Eddy-covariance/eddy-flux systems measure three-dimensional wind direction and simulataneous gas concentrations. What is generally sought is a measure of vertical exchange of gases. In the case of the systems that we use in the LEES Lab, these gases are water vapor and carbon dioxide.

This autumn, I'll be working on a project which includes placing a flux tower in the savanna/woodlands of the Northwest Ohio Oak Openings to measure carbon flux. As the tower is assembled, pics and descriptions of the process will become available. Once the station is running, data will be made available in the data section of this web site.
